HELENA - Billings West, aided by the bat of catcher Allyson Peterson, swept Helena and Helena Capital Saturday in the Bears' final softball games of the regular season.
Peterson drove in six runs in the two games, which included a three-run homer in the fifth inning of West's 5-3 win over Helena. It was Peterson's first homer of the season. Jenni Pehler added two RBIs for the Bears.
Pitcher Jessyka MacDonald struck out 11 to earn the win while Taylor Huebner earned the save.
Peterson had a bases-loaded double in the Bears' 6-0 win over Helena Capital, as well. Huebner got the victory, striking out 13.
West (15-7) will face Billings Senior in an Eastern AA playoff series on Friday. The best-of-three set begins at 1 p.m. at Poly Vista Park.

BUTTE - Billings Senior split a doubleheader with Eastern AA rival Butte on Saturday.
After dropping the opener 7-1, the Broncs bounced back for a 6-4 victory. Jacey Habets and Cassidy Butler each drove in two runs for Senior. Habets finished 3-for-4 with a double.
Starting pitcher Shae Hoskins earned the victory. Hallie Bishop added an RBI for the Broncs, and also hit her first career home run, a solo shot in the first game.
The games were the last of the regular season for Senior. The Broncs (10-12) will next face Billings West in a best-of-three State AA playoff series on Friday at Poly Vista. The first game is at 1 p.m.

HELENA - Billings Skyview dropped two non-conference softball games Saturday against Helena and Helena Capital.
Thanks to a big hit from Kelsi Brekke, Capital scored three runs in the bottom of the 11th inning to win 5-2. Lindsay Stoltz had the lone RBI for the Falcons.
Skyview scored three runs in the top of the seventh frame against Helena, but still fell 6-5. Teal Kaufman doubled and Amanda Todd drove in two runs to lead the Falcons.
Skyview (14-8) will host Bozeman in a best-of-three State AA playoff series Thursday beginning at 1 p.m.

GLENDIVE - Megan Smith hit two home runs and finished with three RBIs as Billings Central defeated Glendive 14-6 in Eastern A softball here Saturday.
Smith hit a two-run homer in the fourth and a solo shot in the sixth.
Central's Brynn Burke went 2-for-4 to extend her hitting streak to a season-long 17 games.
The Rams also defeated Sidney 12-3 on Saturday. A box score was not available before press time.
