Jalen Garcia had four triples, the last setting up the winning run to help the Billings Scarlets sweep Medicine Hat in American Legion baseball on Sunday.
The Scarlets (33-17-1, 12-6) won 9-7 and 9-8 in eight innings at Dehler Park.
The Scarlets were forced to hold off the Moose Monarchs after building big leads in both games.
The Scarlets scored seven runs in the first inning of the opener, but needed to score two in the sixth for the win. Collin Maier had an RBI double and Shelby Zorn a sacrifice fly for an RBI for Billings. Garcia and Maier each had two hits and two RBIs, while Jake Tallman and Gordy Sveinson each added two hits. Maier and Sveinson also scored two runs apiece.
Maier's base hit scored Garcia with the game-winning run in the second game.
Garcia finished 5 for 5 from the plate with four RBIs. He also scored four runs. Zorn, Sveinson and Tallman each had two hits for Billings.
The Scarlets led 6-0 after two innings. Medicine Hat scored four runs in the sixth and seventh innings.
