Tanner Leenknecht launched three home runs and had five RBIs in a 12-3 Billings Royals win over Medicine Hat on Saturday at Dehler Park.

The Royals (38-13) won the opener 3-1 as Beau Thomas pitched a three-hitter.

Leenknecht finished 4 for 4 from the plate and also scored three runs. Teammate Baylee Slevira was also 4 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Bryan Mitchell had two hits and two RBIs, while Austin Vogel had three  hits and scored two runs for the winners.

The Royals broke open the game with a six-run third inning. Drew Atkieson pitched all seven innings for the win.

Eight of Billings 16 hits were for extra bases.

Matt Dillon, Konner Wiechman and Mitchell all had RBIs in the opener.
