HELENA -- The Billings Royals swept a conference doubleheader from Helena on Tuesday. Billings beat the Senators 11-5 in the opener and 6-3 in the nightcap.
Ryan Walla hit a home run and had three RBIs in the first game, and Konner Wiechman went 3 for 4 and drove in four runs. The Royals collected 14 hits, getting three from Tanner Leenknecht and two from Matt Dillon.
The second game saw Wiechman hit a solo homer in the third inning as the Royals took a 5-1 lead. Wiechman had two RBIs, as did Kevin Angland, who added a run-scoring double in the seventh.
Drew Atkeison and Austin Vogel earned the victories on the mound for Billings.
The Royals improved to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the league. They face Bozeman on Wednesday in a conference game at Dehler Park.
