MISSOULA -- The Billings Royals scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the second on the way to a 14-2 romp over Missoula in American Legion baseball on Monday.
Matt Dillon’s two-RBI double in the second put the Royals ahead 5-0. Dillon later scored on a sacrifice fly by Tanner Leenknecht. Ryan Walla hit a solo home run in the third.
Leenknecht drove in four runs while Austin Vogel had three RBIs. Bryan Mitchell doubled and had two runs driven in.
Pitcher Kolby Reed allowed two runs on seven hits in seven innings to earn the win.
The Royals improved to 39-13 overall and 11-6 in the conference. They host Lethbridge in a league doubleheader Tuesday at Dehler Park.
