The Billings Royals ran their season record to 33-11 on Saturday with two more American Legion baseball victories at the Gopher Classic tournament in Minnesota.

The Royals defeated the Rochester A's 6-1 and Brooklyn Park Heights 2-0. Beau Thomas and Drew Atkeison pitched complete games for the victors.

Against Rochester, the Royals had just six hits, but three of them went for extra bases. Tanner Leenknecht and Joe Zimmer hit triples, while Wyatt Summers doubled.

Zimmer and Kevin Angland drove in two runs apiece.

Thomas allowed five hits in seven innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Later in the day against Brooklyn Park Heights, Atkeison threw a three-hitter. He finished with three strikeouts and no walks.

Konner Wiechman, Kolby Reid and Austin Vogel had the only hits for the Royals. Zimmer and Vogel drove in runs.
