BOZEMAN -- Caje Golden threw a five-hitter and the Billings Scarlets defeated Regina, Saskatchewan, 10-1 on Saturday at the Bozeman American Legion baseball tournament.

It was the first of two games for the Scarlets on Saturday. They later lost to Helena, 4-3.

The only run Golden surrendered came on a bases-loaded walk in the third inning. Otherwise, Golden struck out three and the Scarlets played error-free defense behind him.

Collin Maier went 3 for 3 with a double, and Jalen Garcia collected two hits for the Scarlets. Jake McGovern delivered a two-run double in the fourth.

Against Helena, the Scarlets led 3-1 late, but allowed three runs in the seventh and couldn't recover. Troy Arntson's two-run triple against Billings pitcher A.J. Smith was the catalyst for the Senators' comeback.

The Scarlets are now 23-13-1 overall. The Bozeman tournament continues through Monday.
