IDAHO FALLS – Jimmy Pickens’ two-run double in the top of the ninth helped lift the Billings Mustangs to a 10-9 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars on Friday night in the Pioneer League.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Mustangs. It was also the first win in seven tries against the Chukars.

The Mustangs pounded out 14 hits, including three each from Brian O’Grady and Aristides Aquino. Both players also drove in two runs apiece.

Idaho Falls had 13 hits, and had leads of 5-2 and 9-8 before falling victim to the Mustangs’ ninth-inning rally.

Brennan Bernardino (1-0), the sixth pitcher of the game for the Mustangs, threw scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth to pick up the win. He struck out four.

Wander Franco and Mike Hill each had three RBIs for the Chukars.

The Mustangs travel to Ogden, Utah, to start a four-game series with the Raptors on Saturday night.
