CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Lolo Sanchez had two hits and two RBI as the West Virginia Power defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 5-1 on Monday.
West Virginia started the scoring in the second inning when Chris Sharpe hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run double by Sanchez.
The Power later tacked on two runs in the fourth when Calvin Mitchell hit an RBI single and Rodolfo Castro hit a sacrifice fly to secure the victory.
West Virginia left-hander Braeden Ogle (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Daniel Ramos (1-1) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over three innings. Jacob Taylor pitched three scoreless innings for his first save of the season.
