SHERIDAN, Wyo. -- Australian Sam Moodie has signed a national letter of intent to play women's basketball at Sheridan College this year.

Moodie is a 6-foot-1 post player. As a starter for the Junior Tall Ferns Youth League U23 team, Moodie netted 9.1 points per game and 9.5 boards. She shot 43 percent from the field. In April while competing for the New Zealand U20 squad at the Australian Nationals, she averaged 11.6 points and five rebounds.

She joins a recruiting class that includes Sarah Rawlings from Tongue River, Wyo.; Jess Underberg from Douglas, Wyo.; Shayne Carter from Cheyenne, Wyo.; Shayna Kretschman from Arvada-Clearmont, Wyo.; Peyton Hinn from Chadron, Neb., and Megan Kramer from Colorado.
