PORTLAND, Ore. -- Flavien Davis scored 22 points and Montana State beat Portland State 70-64 on Saturday night at the Stott Center.
MSU built a 15-point lead in the first half, but the Vikings used a 14-0 run surrounding halftime to reclaim the lead early in the second half. After Portland State climbed back into the game, the teams played on even terms for most of the second half.
MSU used an 8-2 beginning under the five minute mark to reclaim control.
The Bobcats were without injured center Paul Egwuonwu, but got considerable production from reserve forward Blake Brumwell. Brumwell scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Antonio Biglow scored 12 points for MSU, which improved to 10-10 overall and 7-5 in the Big Sky Conference. Portland State dropped to 5-14 and 3-9 in the league.
