OGDEN, Utah — Montana State’s Peyton Ferris on Saturday earned a share of the Big Sky Conference’s final player of the week award of the season.
Ferris, a senior from Twin Bridges, capped an impressive regular season with back-to-back double-doubles to guide the Bobcats to their second straight Big Sky Conference regular-season title and the No. 1 seed at the league tournament.
Ferris averaged 22 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 72 percent from the field, including 57 percent from beyond the arc in wins over Idaho State and Weber State.
Against ISU on Thursday, Ferris posted 22 points and a career-matching 12 rebounds. She followed that with 22 points and 10 boards against Weber State on Saturday.
Ferris shared the award with Northern Colorado’s Courtney Smith, who averaged 22.5 points and 8.5 rebound on 75.9 percent shooting as Northern Colorado clinched the third seed in the Big Sky tournament.
