MISSOULA - University of Montana guard/forward Kareem Jamar has been named the Big Sky Conference men's basketball player of the week.

The 6-foot-5 junior from Venice, Calif., averaged 18.5 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block per game as Montana posted two road wins over the weekend.

Jamar had 11 points and seven rebounds in the 77-62 win at North Dakota on Thursday and followed with a career high 26 points as Montana rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to beat UNC 85-77 on Saturday.

Montana is 6-0 in conference games this season and has won 18 straight regular-season conference games dating back to a loss at Weber State on Jan. 14, 2012.
