MISSOULA – Four players scored in double figures as the Montana Lady Griz won their Women’s National Invitational Tournament opener by beating Washington State 90-78 on Wednesday night at Dahlberg Arena.

Kellie Cole led the way with 22 points and nine assists, while Jordan Sullivan had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Kayleigh Valley added 15 points and McCalle Feller 13 for the Lady Griz, who will play Thursday’s Cal Poly-San Diego winner in the second round.

The Lady Griz (23-10) shot 40 percent in the first half to build a 36-25 lead. Montana made 9 of 20 3-point attempts for the game, with Sullivan, Feller and Cole all hitting two from beyond the arc.

Montana, whose biggest lead was 16 points late in the first half, outrebounded Washington State 48-38.

Lia Galdeira had 22 points to pace WSU (17-17), while Sage Romberg had 18 and Tia Presley 11.
