Cody Kempt's performance Saturday in an OT win against South Dakota was pretty special.
Subbing for starter Mark Iddins, who was sick, Kempt went wild, completing 23-of-34 passes for and 249 yards with three TDs and no interceptions.
His final pass was his biggest, a 36-yard scoring pass to receiver Elvis Akpla in overtime to, eventually, seal the win.
So whaddaya say, Bobcat fans? Do we have a controversy on our hands?
Iddins had been servicable -- but not great -- in the starting role through the first five games of the year. He had thrown for 954 yards with five TDs and five INTs. Iddins still is the only full-time starter in the Big Sky Conference with less than 1,000 yards passing.
But out of nowhere came Kempt, who put together the best game of any Bobcat QB in some time.
It'll be interesting to see what coach Rob Ash does with this. Ash was noncomittal on Saturday about the QB situation, but he no doubt will think about putting Kempt in there this week in a huge game at Eastern Washington.
What say you? Should Kempt start? Should Iddins remain in the role? Give us some knowledge.
