Despite a drop in ranking, Carroll College remained the highest rated team in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Saints fell from No. 10 to No. 13, but are still considered the top team in the Frontier, according to the coaches.
Carroll went 2-2 since the last poll came out, falling to Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western, both which appear in the Top 25 this week. The Saints are currently tied atop the Frontier Conference standings with a 7-3 record.
Rocky Mountain comes in at the No. 15 spot this week, climbing from No. 18. Rocky’s ascension comes on the heels of a 3-1 two weeks, with wins over Lewis-Clark State College, Montana Tech and Carroll. Rocky lost to Montana Western, arguably the hottest team in the Frontier right now. Rocky, like Carroll, is also tied atop the rankings with a 7-3 record in conference.
University of Providence fell in this week’s rankings, but still claimed a Top 25 spot. The Argonauts came in at No. 18 this week, down from their No. 15 spot. Providence also went 2-2 since the last Top 25, defeating Montana State-Northern and Lewis-Clark State College but losing to Montana Tech and Montana Western.
Montana Western clawed its way back into the Top 25 after falling out two weeks ago. The Bulldogs are on a five game winning streak and have taken down each of the top teams in the Frontier recently.
Lewis-Clark State College fell from the rankings entirely. After hugging a No. 23-spot two weeks ago, the Warriors went 1-3 in conference and haven’t been able to pull through with a win against a quality opponent in the Frontier since Nov. 11 when they defeated Montana Western. The Warriors still received votes.
