The women's golf team at Rocky Mountain College, ranked 15th nationally, has qualified for the NAIA championship tournament in Lincoln, Neb.

The 72-hole tournament will take place May 20-23 at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln.

Coach Aaron Pohle's Battlin' Bears earned an at-large berth after winning the Frontier Conference's regular-season title and placing second to Lewis-Clark State of Lewiston, Idaho, at last month's conference tournament.

This will be Rocky's 14th appearance at nationals in 16 years. The Bears last qualified in 2012.

L-C State, ranked 13th in Thursday's final regular-season Top 25 poll, received the Frontier's automatic berth to nationals.

The 144-player field at nationals will consist of 18 automatic-qualifying teams, eight at-large selections and one host school.

The national field is cut after 54 holes and reduced to the top 17 teams and 40 individuals (including ties).

Besides the teams from Rocky and L-C State, Brandi Bork of Westminster College and Jackie Mee of Carroll College were selected as at-large individual qualifiers.

SCAD of Savannah, Ga., is ranked No. 1 in the final team poll. Reigning national champion Oklahoma City is No. 2.
