BUTTE — Jared Samuelson posted another double-double as Rocky Mountain College held off Montana Tech 68-65 Friday night in Frontier Conference men's basketball.
The Battlin' Bears (13-7, 5-4) play at Carroll on Saturday. Rocky has won four of its last five and defeated the Saints 59-54 when the teams met Jan. 9 in Helena. They are tied for third place in the league standings.
Samuelson, of Billings, finished with a game-high 25 points and 14 rebounds. He was 10 of 18 from the field and made all four free throws, including two in the final 16.2 seconds of the game for Rocky's final points. Samuelson also had a team-high eight rebounds.
"It was just a hard-fought game," said Battlin' Bears coach Bill Dreikosen. "They (Rocky) are playing with tons of energy and confidence right now. We had a really good start to the game and had a really good flow. We lost our flow but gained it back in the last seven or eight minutes to finish the game off."
Montana Tech (10-11, 2-8) had pulled within 66-65 on two Carson Dummer free throws with 19 seconds left before Samuelson countered.
Dylan Pannabecker had a career-high 24 points for the Orediggers.
