BILLINGS -- Playing in her first game in almost a full year, Alisha Breen scored 31 points and had nine rebounds in Montana State Billings 80-75 exhibition win over Montana Western in women’s basketball Wednesday night at Alterowitz Gymnasium.
Rylee Kane came within one assist of a double-double for the Yellowjackets with 16 points and nine assists, while Rachel Koehler had 10 points and eight in her first game for MSUB.
Breen, a senior from Choteau, suffered a season-ending knee injury on Nov. 4, 2016 against Montana Tech.
The GNAC Preseason Player of the Year finished 12 of 19 from the field, including four 3-pointers.
“She deserves to have success because of how hard she has worked off the court to get back,” said MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin of Breen.
The Yellowjackets finished with 11 3-pointers, including three from Breen and two from Lexi Prevost.
Theresa Mac-Dangosu led the Bulldogs (1-1) with 17 points, while Tori Anderson added 13 and Cierra Lamey 12.
MSUB plays its final exhibition game of the new season on Monday, staying in Billings to play Rocky Mountain College at the Fortin Center.
