GREAT FALLS — The Rocky Mountain College men's and women's golf teams won teams titles at the Argo Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday at Meadow Lark Country Club.
The men shot a three-round score of 895, finishing eight strokes ahead of defending Frontier Conference champion Lewis-Clark State. The Battlin' Bears were the only team to shoot under 300 each round.
Colton Murphy, a sophomore for Rocky, tied for first place before losing to Chris Lien, last year's conference champion, in a playoff. Murphy was last year's conference runner-up. Both shot three-round scores of 216.
Rocky's Hunter Anderson tied for fourth at 223, while Cory Preshinger was seventh (225) and Nathan Cachia 10th (227).
Rocky's women had three golfers in the top five as it topped L-C State by 19 strokes in the two-round tournament. The Bears shot rounds of 315-314—629.
Eryn Ellis shot 74-77—151 and placed second for Rocky. She was followed by teammate Hayden Flohr (154), while Morgan O'Neil tied for fifth (161).
Gina Kowalchuk, of host University of Great Falls, took women's medalist honors with rounds of 73-71—144.
