BILLINGS — Billings Senior sharpshooter Braxton Haws is staying home.
Haws announced his commitment to Rocky Mountain College on Thursday evening over Twitter, saying he will compete on the men's basketball and track and field teams for the Battlin' Bears.
Haws was a three-year starter for the Broncs basketball team. Most recently, he finished 10th in Class AA in scoring with 13.3 points per game and third in assists per game with 3.85. A 3-point specialist, Haws shot the ball 39.3 percent from deep and was second in the AA for 3-pointers made. Haws helped lead Senior to its first state tournament appearance since 2012. The Broncs earned a first-round upset over the West's No. 1 seed in Missoula Sentinel to advance to the State AA semifinals for the first time since 2000.
Haws qualified for the State AA track and field meet last year in the long jump, finishing 15th overall.
Haws is the second member of Senior's basketball team to sign for college basketball. Fellow starter Connor Kieckbusch announced his commitment to Montana Tech in March.
