Billings Central's Avery Baldry, who was an all-state and all-conference defensive lineman for the Class A champion Rams last season, has signed on with Rocky Mountain College to continue playing football in the fall.
Rocky coach Brian Armstrong said he is impressed with the size and strength of the 6-foot-1, 275-pound Baldry.
"He's a guy that is pretty physically developed," Armstrong said. "He has a chance to help us early, I think."
Baldry was in on 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks for 12-0 Central last fall. He also recovered two fumbles.
He has been selected to play in this summer's East-West Shrine Game and Knights of Columbus Badlands Bowl.
Baldry will join teammate Connor Cerkovnik, a running back, on the Rocky campus this fall. Cerkovnik also recently signed with the Battlin' Bears.
"It's exciting to have another local guy that's a darn good player now, and has a chance to be a great player when it's all said and done," Armstrong said of Baldry.
