Rocky Mountain College senior guard Haleigh Crnkovich has been selected as the co-defensive player of the year in Frontier Conference women’s basketball.

The 5-foot-5 Crnkovich, who is from Big Timber, shared the award with senior forward Cydney Tibbetts of Utah’s Westminster College.

Crnkovich led the league this season with her 74 steals and 2.74 per-game average.

The Frontier announced its all-conference teams and individual awards on Monday night.

Westminster’s senior guard Nicole Yazzie was picked as the player of the year, while her coach, Shelley Jarrard, was chosen as the coach of the year.

Westminster won both the regular-season title and postseason tournament championship.

Carroll College’s Megan Patterson, who is a senior from Columbus, was recognized as the newcomer of the year. Erin Legel of the University of Great Falls was named freshman of the year, and Tia Pappas of Westminster was the recipient of the league’s sixth player of the year accolade.

The all-conference first team included Westminster’s Tibbitts and Yazzie, Montana Western’s Sammi Bignell, Lewis-Clark State’s Annie Kane and Carroll’s Patterson and Torrie Cahill.

Cahill is a senior from Miles City.
