Tyree Anderson, who averaged 21 points per game during his sophomore season at Miles Community College, will be joining the Rocky Mountain College men's basketball program in the fall.

The versatile 6-foot-2 off guard/wing began taking classes at Rocky in January. He didn't play last season.

Anderson, who is from Las Vegas, was part of the MCC 2011-12 team that compiled a 26-7 record. The Pioneers also advanced to the semifinals of the Region IX tournament.

Former MCC teammates Sian Laine and Jeremy Nicolas are also members of the Rocky program. Laine is a recent signee, while Nicolas played for the Bears last season.

Anderson received NJCAA honorable mention All-America attention after the 2011-12 season with the Pioneers. He shot 53 percent from the field.

"He's just a kid who can score in a variety of different ways," Rocky coach Bill Dreikosen said. "He can defend. He's really cat-quick. That's kind of how I would describe him. He's a really good athlete that way."
