Seven members of the women's soccer team at Rocky Mountain College and one member of the men's team have been selected as 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.

Lauren Brophy, Malin Johansson, Shauna Ketcham, Laurene Luis, Kirsty Montignani, Shelby Wallach and Amelia Whaley were among the 492 student-athletes singled out for recognition for the women.

Rocky's Emil Soderberg was included among the 315 men.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Brophy, Ketcham, Luis, Montignani, Wallach and Whaley are seniors, while Johansson is a junior. Soderberg is also a senior.
