Pairings set for Frontier hoops

The pairings for the men's and women's postseason basketball tournaments in the Frontier Conference were announced on Sunday.

The quarterfinal round for the men will begin on Friday, while the women will begin play on Saturday.

All games will begin at 7 p.m. local time.

In the men's playoffs, top-seeded Rocky Mountain College (12-4, 21-7) and second-seeded Westminster College (11-5, 18-11) received first-round byes.

In the quarterfinal games on Friday, No. 6 University of Great Falls (8-8, 17-12) travels to No. 3 Montana State Northern (11-5, 23-7) and No. 5 Lewis-Clark State (8-7, 21-9) travels to No. 4 Montana Western (9-7, 16-11).

During the semifinal round on Friday, March 7, the lowest remaining seed will play at No. 1 Rocky Mountain, and the highest remaining seed will be at No. 2 Westminster.

The championship game is Monday, March 10, with the highest remaining seed hosting the lowest remaining seed.

The winner receives an automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament.

When the women’s playoffs begin on Saturday, top-seeded Westminster College (16-0, 22-2) and No. 2 Lewis-Clark State (12-3, 25-4) will receive first-round byes.

In the the quarterfinal pairings, No. 3 Montana State Northern (10-6, 20-8) hosts No. 6 Carroll College (7-9, 14-13) and No. 5 University of Great Falls (7-9, 17-12) travels to No. 4 Montana Western (8-8, 14-12).

The women’s semifinal round is Saturday, March 8, with No. 1 Westminster hosting the lowest remaining seed and No. 2 Lewis-Clark State entertaining the highest remaining seed.

The championship game is Tuesday, March 11 with the highest remaining seed hosting the lowest remaining seed.

The winner receives an automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament.
