POCATELLO, Idaho -- Shawn Peden finished second in the men's open 800 meters at the Mountain State Games and qualified for the NAIA national meet.

Peden, a sophomore from Billings, was part of a 2-3-4 finish for the Bears. Peden finished with a time of 1:56.44, followed by Fred Petsch (1:57.68) and Colton Wood (1:57.9). Rocky coach Alan King said that Petsch could hit the NAIA qualifying mark after the altitude adjustment is factored.

Rachel Hart and Ana Richert placed 3-4 in the women's open mile, while Jessica Raymond was fourth in the women's open 800 meters.
