SPEARFISH, S.D. -- The women's cross country team at Rocky Mountain College had a perfect 1-2-3-4-5 finish on Friday in winning the Black Hills State Yellowjacket Invitational.
Rocky's Rachael Hart and Ana Richter joined hands in crossing the finish line together with a winning time of 20:13 over the 5K (3.1 miles) course.
Teammate Megan Breeding was third at 20:30, followed by Selene Johnson at 20:52 and Jessica Raymond at 21:08 in the 23-runner field.
Rocky's women, ranked 11th nationally, finished with 15 points. Black Hills followed at 49 and Dickinson State was third at 66.
For the men, Rocky's Noah Kiprono won the 8K (4.97 miles) race with a time of 26:16. Shawn Peden of Rocky was eighth at 28:22 and Cory Berry was 10th at 28:34 in the 26-runner field.
No. 17-ranked Dickinson State topped the team standings with 33 points. Black Hills was second at 44 and Rocky third at 50.
Rocky's runners will be in Bozeman next weekend for the Montana State University Open.
