SPEARFISH, S.D. -- Rocky Mountain College junior Ana Richter ran a 11:37 in the 3K at the Yellowjacket Spring Open here on Saturday.
The time qualifies Richter, from Billings, for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships May 22-24 in Alabama.
"It was good. She got it out of the way and doesn't have to worry about it the rest of the season and can focus on getting faster and stronger," RMC coach Alan King said.
Two Battlin' Bears men also had strong performances in sophomore Shawn Peden of Billings and freshman Fred Petsch of Billings. King said Peden was second overall in the 1,500 with a time of 4:07 and Petsch was third in 4:12.
The Bears are at the Montana State Open next Saturday in Bozeman.
