The men's ski-racing team at Rocky Mountain College is ranked No. 1 nationally in the first United States Collegiate Ski Association top 10 poll of the season, which was released Friday night by CollegeSnowSports.com.

The Battlin' Bears, who are skiing this weekend on their home course at Red Lodge, finished second in the USCSA championships in Maine last year. Coach Jerry Wolf's men have captured three national combined (slalom/giant slalom) titles since 2005.

Rocky's women, who finished sixth at nationals last year, are ranked No. 3 in the first poll of the 2013 season. Reigning champion Sierra Nevada College is No. 1, followed by Brown University.

Rocky's men are ranked ahead of St. Olaf College and defending champion Sierra Nevada College. St. Olaf was third at nationals last year.
