The women's volleyball team at Rocky Mountain College was one of 33 NAIA teams nationally to receive the American Volleyball Coaches Association team academic award.

This is the seventh consecutive year the Battlin' Bears have received the recognition. A team must maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale -- with only five percent of the NAIA teams qualifying.

"I am very proud of our team again this year," Rocky coach Laurie Kelly said. "We pride ourselves on the success of our program. We have scholar-athletes that take classroom and the court very seriously."

The members of the award-winning Rocky team included: Jayde Hair, Ahlea Billis, Jennifer Donaldson, Tori Bertsch, Elli Hellerud, Mariah Stiffarm, Yang Yang, Sky Gabel, Kylie Nielsen, Anna Dewald, Brooke Myers, BrieAnna Geck and Kacie Stone.
