RMC women ranked 18th in cross country

The women's cross country team at Rocky Mountain College is ranked 18th in the NAIA coaches preseason Top 25 poll, which was released on Wednesday.

The Battlin' Bears are one of three Frontier Conference teams in the national rankings. The other two are No. 2 Lewis-Clark State of Idaho and No. 6 Carroll College.

L-C State has been ranked among the Top 25 for 125 consecutive polls.

Biola University of California is ranked No. 1.

On the men's side, L-C State is No. 11 in the balloting and Carroll is No. 24. The Rocky men were among the schools receiving votes.

Reigning national champion Oklahoma City is No. 1.

Rocky's men and women open their season at Carroll's Early Bird Meet on Sept. 5 in Helena.
