KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Rocky Mountain College's Sara Brunner and Kristin Barott have been selected to the Tachikara NAIA All-America volleyball team for the second straight year.
Brunner, a senior outside hitter from Redcliff, Alberta, received second-team recognition. Barott, a senior setter from West Richland, Wash., was chosen to the third team.
Both were honorable mention picks last season.
Brunner averaged 3.6 kills per set this season for the Battlin' Bears, who compiled a 30-5 record and made a second straight appearance at the NAIA national championship tournament. Barott averaged 9.8 assists per set.
The All-America accolades were handed out by an NAIA selection committee. They picked a total of 94 players for first-, second- and third-team honors, along with honorable mention.
Lewis-Clark State's Lauryn Herrick, a senior outside hitter, was also chosen for the second team. Teammate Kelli Tikker, a senior outside hitter, was on the honorable mention squad.
Junior outside hitter Kelsey Vanuden of the University of Great Falls also received honorable mention honors.
Brunner finished with 415 kills, 39 aces and 479 digs in 116 sets for the Bears this season. Barott provided 1,134 assists, 57 aces, 302 digs and 172 kills for Rocky.
