DICKINSON, N.D. -- Joel Barndt had a big night with 22 points and 19 rebounds to help Rocky Mountain College to a 90-57 victory over Dickinson State on Monday in the Frontier Conference men’s basketball opener for both teams.
Tyree Anderson added 23 points for the Battlin’ Bears, who improved to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Frontier. Dickinson State dropped to 2-6 and 0-1.
“We had a 13-point lead at halftime, and we came out and had a real big second half,” said Rocky coach Bill Dreikosen. “We shot the ball extremely well -- we hit nine 3s in the second half. I was proud of the kids tonight. We had three games in four days and we responded really well.”
DeSean Atkins paced the Blue Hawks with 14 points. Tevin Russell chipped in 10.
Rocky travels to play South Dakota Mines and Oglala Lakota College on Friday and Saturday.
