DICKINSON, N.D. -- Rocky Mountain College ran its season record to 6-2 on Saturday afternoon by racing past Valley City State University 81-58 at the Milanovich Classic men's basketball tournament.

Joel Barndt scored a game-high 20 points, Malachi Roberts added 18 and Tyree Anderson chipped in with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Battlin' Bears.

Rocky got off to a hot start, shooting 50 percent from the field and leading 48-14 at halftime.

"We came out and we were ready to go," Rocky coach Bill Dreikosen said. "We built an early lead and kept expanding on it."

The Vikings, 1-7, who had just five field goals in the first half, were led by the 15 points of A.J. McDonald and Jeff Romeus.

VCSU shot just 4 of 24 from 3-point territory.

Rocky's men will remain in Dickinson over the weekend and will take on Dickinson State University in a Frontier Conference game on Monday night.
