Neighboring Rocky Mountain College and Montana State Billings will meet in a men's basketball game Wednesday night at Rocky's Fortin Center.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. between the NAIA Battlin' Bears and NCAA Division II Yellowjackets.
Rocky is already 2-0 on the young season, while MSUB will be playing in its season opener. The game will be an exhibition contest for the Yellowjackets.
The Bears beat Walla Walla University 76-52 and College of Idaho 80-65 at a tournament in Dillon over the weekend. Malachi Roberts averaged 21.5 points per game for the Bears and Joel Barndt 10.5 rebounds.
MSUB, under first-year coach Jamie Stevens, went 18-12 last season and captured the program's first Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament title.
However, the Yellowjackets return only four players from last season's team and have 11 new players on this year's roster.
The key returnees for MSUB include David Arnold, Cameron Cusworth and Robby Trabing.
"It's nice to play somebody else in a game-type environment," said Stevens. "We want to establish a winning culture. We have to go to two pretty tough places to play two pretty tough teams. We know we have to be ready."
MSUB will play at Carroll College on Saturday.
The Bears and Yellowjackets will play twice this season. The second game will be Dec. 17 in MSUB's Alterowitz Gymnasium.
