SILVIS, Ill. — The Rocky Mountain College men's golf team is 21st after the first round of the NAIA National Championship on Tuesday.
The 13th-ranked Battlin' Bears were a collective 18-over par 302 at the TPC Deere Run course.
Keiser University leads with a five-under 279. Coastal Georgia and Taylor University are one stroke back.
Jack Dyer of Keiser is the early lead, with a five-under 66 on the 7,066-yard layout. Alec Dutkowski of Taylor is second with 67.
Michael Tait of Rocky is tied for 43rd with a two-over par 73. He had six birdies, including holes 4 and 5.
Tait is followed by Mitchell Thiessen (75, T68), Colton Murphy (T90, 76), HoTae Kim (78, T114) and Reece Nilsen (81, 135).
The Battlin Bears tee off at 12:30 p.m. for the second round on Wednesday.
