MT. BACHELOR, Ore. — A blistering first run carried Andraz Reich-Pogladic of Rocky Mountain College to the slalom title at the USCSA National Championships on Wednesday.

The Rocky men, with three skiers in the top 10, also won the team title. Both Battlin' Bear men's and women's teams won national slalom titles.

The competition continues with the women's giant slalom Thursday.

Reich-Pogladic was 51.68 seconds on his first run, the only skier under 52 seconds. He came back with a second run time of 57.37 seconds to win with an overall time of 1:49.05.

He was more than two seconds ahead of runner-up Andri Arnason of Sierra Nevada College.

Erik Hogbom (1:52.67) was fifth overall for Rocky and Andrija Vukovic (1:53.85) was 10th. Vukovic was 21st after the first run but rallied with the fourth-fastest time in the second run.
