PITTSBURG, Kan. — Running a personal best time, Isaac Petsch of Rocky Mountain College advanced to the finals of the mile run at the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
Petsch, a junior from Billings, ran a time of 4:14.39. He finished fourth in the second heat and has the eighth-fastest time.
Petsch will run on Saturday.
Brian Blaylock of St. Francis has the fastest time of 4:12.83. Only five seconds separates the top 10 finals qualifiers.
On Thursday, the Rocky distance medley relay team of Shane Ketchum, Brendan Leaming, Gino Giovagnoli and Petsch placed sixth in their heat and did not advance.
