SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Riding win streaks, the Rocky Mountain College men's and women's soccer teams open the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournaments on Friday.

Both Battlin' Bears teams are the No. 2 seeds.

The No. 8-ranked ranked Rocky men (15-1-1) play Evergreen State at noon, while the Battlin' Bears women (13-3) take on College of Idaho at 6 p.m.

The CCC regular season and tournament champions receive automatic berths in the NAIA national tournament.

The Rocky men have won 12 in a row. The played the Geoducks to 1-1 draw last week.

Marco Kummerle leads Rocky with 11 goals, while Chasen Lashure has nine. Goal keeper Cole Catlin has started every match and has six shutouts.

The Rocky women have won five straight and defeated the Yotes earlier in the season.

Lauryn Gamache has scored a team-high 13 goals for Rocky, while Hannah Borgel and Tiara Duford each have five. Gamache has four multi-goal games.

Goal keeper Maia Wetzel is 12-3 this season with four shutouts.

The CCC semifinals are Saturday with the championships matches on Sunday.
