BOZEMAN -- Rocky Mountain College's Rachael Hart finished second in the mile on Friday night at the Last Chance indoor meet held at Montana State.
Hart and teammate Ana Richter, who finished third, were both clocked at 5:13. That time elevated them from the B standard to A in the NAIA ranks.
In the men's 800, Rocky's Shawn Peden, Fred Petsch and Colton Wood all registered personal bests. Peden's time of 1:54.35 broke the school record and improved his national ranking from 22nd to 10th in the NAIA.
Petsch (1:56.49) and Wood (1:57.17) also qualified for nationals with their times.
Rocky now has five individuals and two relays qualified for the NAIA championships, set for March 6-8 in Geneva, Ohio. That's the most the Battlin' Bears have ever qualified for nationals, according to coach Alan King.
