Zach Molyneaux, a versatile all-state and all-conference football player at Chinook, signed a letter of intent to join the Rocky Mountain College program in the fall.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Molyneaux stood out as a running back and inside linebacker last fall for the Class C 8-Man Sugarbeeters. He was selected for this summer's Montana East-West Shrine Game in Laurel as a wide receiver.

Rocky coach Brian Armstrong said the Battlin' Bears plan to use Molyneaux as a safety or nickelback.

He was in on 147 tackles and had two interceptions last season.

"No. 1, he's just a smart football player," Armstrong said. "He's a heck of an athlete. I think he's going to develop into a fine football player."

Molyneaux, who also competes in basketball, golf and track, was the boys winner for Montana last fall in the Wendy's High School Heisman program.

The award recognizes outstanding high school seniors nationwide in athletics, academics and community work.
