Xavier Walker, a two-time all-conference offensive tackle at Feather River College in Plumas, Calif., has signed with the Rocky Mountain College football program.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Walker is from Las Vegas. He will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Battlin' Bears.
"We really like his length," Rocky coach Brian Armstrong said. "He's a long-levered guy. He's an excellent athlete for his size. He'll fit in very nicely at the tackle position."
The Bears have also announced the signings of linebacker Dayton Cogdill (5-foot-11, 200 pounds) of Billings Central, wide receiver Christian Prevost (6-0, 185) of Lambert, linebacker Ben Groeneweg (5-11, 205) of Cheyenne (Wyo.) East, and wide receiver Taylor Schwartz (5-11, 175) of Glendive.
Groeneweg played on a State 4A championship football team last fall.
Cogdill and Schwartz received second-team all-Eastern A recognition, while Prevost was an all-state and all-conference performer.
"I think they're guys that are going to be really good fits at Rocky," Armstrong said. "They are excellent student athletes and guys we're excited about getting into our program and developing.
"I think they'll be names that you'll recognize down the road."
