LA MIRADA, Calif. -- Senior middle blocker Yang Yang supplied 12 kills and Ahlea Billis nine on Friday night as No. 17-ranked Rocky Mountain College swept No. 18 College of Idaho 25-12, 25-20, 25-19 in women's volleyball at the Biola/Red Lion Summer Slam tournament.

With the victory, the Battlin' Bears improved to 2-2 on the young season. College of Idaho dropped to 2-4.

Tori Bertsch helped lead the way with 34 assists, Jennifer Donaldson contributed 13 digs and Yang and Anna Dewald had five blocks apiece.

"We definitely had some rhythm," Rocky coach Laurie Kelly said. "We feel like we controlled the whole match." 

No. 13-ranked Dordt College of Iowa defeated Rocky 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11 earlier in the day.

Against Dordt, the Bears received 27 kills and three blocks from Yang. Donaldson provided 20 digs, while Bertsch had a double-double of 47 assists and 10 digs.

The Bears will be in Daytona Beach, Fla., next Friday and Saturday for four matches.
