DICKINSON STATE, N.D. — Brooke Jones and Mikayla Jones scored 12 points apiece in helping Rocky Mountain College cruise past Dickinson State University 70-38 Thursday night in nonconference women's basketball.

The Battlin' Bears (3-0) used a 17-5 scoring spree in the second quarter to construct a 33-16 cushion by halftime. Rocky led by as many as 36 points late in the second half.

Ten Bears put their names in the scoring column. Mikayla Jones scored all of her points on 3-pointers.

DSU shot just 22 percent from the field. Rocky, which nailed 45 percent of its shots, had 17 assists on its 28 field goals.

Rocky coach Wes Keller said his Bears played well against DSU's zone defense.

"Tonight we made the right read, made the right pass and pretty much got the shots that we wanted," he said.

Rocky will play at Minot State on Friday afternoon.
