HAYDEN LAKE, Idaho -- The Rocky Mountain College women's golf team placed third Monday at the conclusion of the two-day North Idaho College Invitational at the Avondale Golf Club.
Lewis-Clark State of Lewiston, Idaho, won the six-school event with a 54-hole total of 950. College of Idaho was second at 976, while Rocky was third at 1,005.
Trish Gibbens of College of Idaho was the medalist for the women at 229.
Rocky's women were led by junior Margo Salsbery's 243 total, which placed her seventh overall.
Teammate Katy Peterson was eighth at 245.
Rocky's men placed seventh in the nine-school field at 929.
Community College of Spokane placed first among the men at 883, followed by L-C State and North Idaho College both at 899. L-C State was awarded second because it had the better third-round score.
Cole Lorenzo of the Community Colleges of Spokane was the men's medalist at 211.
Rocky sophomore Daniel Thompsett was fifth at 221.
The Rocky men and women will be in Great Falls next Montana and Tuesday for a Frontier Conference tournament.
