BILLINGS — The Montana State Billings Yellowjackets used a second half surge to sprint past Rocky Mountain College 71-48 in a college women's basketball exhibition game at the Fortin Center.

Alisha Breen scored 20 points for the Yellowjackets while Rylee Kane added 19 and Grace Weeks scored 11 off of the bench. Breen and Vanessa Stavish each had eight rebounds while Kane also dished out six assists.

MSUB shot 50 percent from the field as a team and 39 percent from 3-point range. The Yellowjackets led 31-25 at halftime, but outscored Rocky 21-8 in the third quarter to blow the lead open.

"They played extremely well. I don't think we played very well at all," Rocky coach Wes Keller said over the phone on Monday night. "We learned about some of our weaknesses tonight.

"They came out and got after us in the third. Their zone (defense) really slowed us down. We just haven't seen that much zone this early yet."

Brooke Jones led Rocky in scoring with 13 while Mikayla Jones added 12. Rocky as a team only shot the ball 30 percent from the field and 6-20 (30 percent) from three. The Battlin' Bears were out-rebounded by MSUB 47-19.

Rocky will next play at Dickinson State on Thursday while MSUB will play at the Academy of Art on Friday in San Francisco.
