POCATELLO, Idaho — Brenden Leaming, Derrick Olsen and Rayna Laasko set program records and the Rocky Mountain College distance medley hit the qualifying mark for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field meet on Friday.
The new marks and qualifying time were accomplished at the Mountain State Games.
The Battlin' Bears distance medley team of Shane Ketchum, Leaming, Gino Giovagnoli and Isaac Petsch finished second with a time of 10:24.45 to hit the A qualifying standard for the NAIA national meet.
Derrick Olsen hit the B qualifying standard with a program-record time of 8.34 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
The NAIA meet is March 1-3 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Leaming bettered the 60-meter dash record, finishing with a time of 7.16 seconds. The previous mark was 7.21, established by both Leaming and Justus Whitmire earlier this year.
Rayna Laasko set the women's pentathlon record with 2,401 points. The previous record was 2,200 points by Carrie Cota in 2017.
