Stephanie Boehm of Billings West has signed a letter of intent with the women's basketball program at Rocky Mountain College.
The 5-foot-4 Boehm helped the Golden Bears compile a 19-4 season record and play for the state championship at the recent Class AA tournament at Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings.
During the regular season, Boehm's average of 4.8 steals per game ranked her second in Class AA. She also averaged 8.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per outing.
"The first thing I liked about Steph is she comes from a winning program," new Rocky coach Wes Keller said. "I think that's very important. She knows how to compete. She plays extremely hard, and she's also very physical."
Boehm will join Belt guard Kara Gerke in the fall as part of Rocky's latest class of recruits. The 5-7 Gerke, who was part of three consecutive Class C state title teams with the Huskies, signed with the Battlin' Bears last fall.
Keller said around 22 women are currently part of the varsity and JV programs at Rocky.
"I'm probably looking to sign between six to eight more kids," Keller said.
Keller officially took over the Rocky women's program early last week. He has spent the past eight seasons assisting with the men's program.
