GREAT FALLS -- An early goal by sophomore Mandi Achten was all Rocky Mountain College needed in a 1-0 victory on Friday afternoon over the University of Great Falls in Frontier Conference women's soccer.
The Battlin' Bears, 10-3-2, have now posted five wins and a tie in their last six matches. UGF, 2-11-1, has lost seven straight.
Achten scored at the 14:16 mark of the first half. Kelli Wieczorek was the winning goalie for the Bears, with six saves.
UGF got off eight shots, while Rocky finished with seven. Achten took three of those shots.
The Bears will entertain Trinity Lutheran College of Washington on Sunday at 11 a.m. on Rocky's Wendy's Field. UGF will play at Rocky next Friday at 1 p.m.
